Flamenco Fashion Trends 2022: Fabrics, tailoring, prints and other trends.

On the last post we commented the flamenco fashion trends seen on the main catwalks, starting with colors.Today we close this topic with other trends, beyond the fashion colors..

According to fabric

Perforated fabrics

Perforated fabrics are always present on all the catwalks and fairs. Their sweetness makes them irresistible. Proof of this are the number of dresses of this type that, year after year, we see in the streets. A trend that this 2022 is more alive than ever.

Mix of Textures

The idea is to mix different textures -or fabrics- under the same chromatic range.

To do this, we must choose very well the colors to match each other. For example:

Transparencies

Not everyone dares with transparencies. But the reality is that they provide a very sophisticated look.

They can be full body, or play with transparencies in arms and backs. Both for flamenco fashion and for guest, with flamenco style look.

Fabric applications

Geometric prints

It is true that polka dots and flowers have a privileged place in flamenco fashion. However, just as in ready-to-wear, one , the flamenco of 2022 will also wear stripes, checks, houndstooth... and any geometric proposal.

Sequins

If we want a design to wear from afternoon to evening, sequins are the best option. Proof of this is the design that in 2019 our colleague Alvaro Del Reymade for Noveles SIMOF, with the fabric FIESTA QUITCH..

Shawl

Plain, embroidered or printed. It does not matter how it is, as long as this year the costume is accompanied by its shawl. The way to wear it also varies. Beyond the classic peak or open V, this article from Diario de Sevilla gives us several keys.

We can opt for a monochromatic shawl according to our suit or, on the contrary, that this is the detail that gives the breaking point..

Carnation sleeve

In recent times we have seen how the sleeves of our flamenco dresses have been varying in shape. It seems that there is no longer a "norm" and that all creativity is valid: with or without ruffles, shoulder ruffles, asymmetrical, with a lot of volume, ham sleeves, French sleeves...

However, and although this is true, it seems that one style of sleeve has stood out above the rest on these catwalks: the carnation sleeve.

How to get the carnation sleeve? For this type of sleeves we will use the organdie. And we will put a garrucha on the edge of the cape ruffle. Thus, the more quantity we put, the more carnation feeling it will have.

Are you looking forward to flamenco fashion? We hope you're as excited as we are! If you can't wait any longer either, we are waiting for you in seeing you in our store in Seville or through our website, to start dressing up as a flamenca.
